SOSBugs Pest Control uses infrared camera imaging for a few years now, as a great tool for the detection of pests in houses and in commercial buildings. This technique is very interesting for our pest control biologist to detect abnormal and invisible problems that can be present in walls or in ceiling of  buildings.

The thermal imaging can be used either inside or outside of a building structure. The thermal imaging device detects the temperature of any kind of construction material . The images seen on the camera screen look like an X-ray radiography. The warmer zones of the construction materials appear dark red, orange or yellow and the colder zones are black, dark blue.

SOS Bestioles Pest Control uses Infrared Thermal Imaging for the following :

• Find out water infiltration in roofs and in walls;
• Find abnormal humidity in insulation ;
• Detect moisture and insulation problems in walls;
• Localize  indoor Yellowjacket Wasp nests;
• Localize indoor Bumblebee hives;
• Detect air leaks (energy losts);
• Spot Black Carpenter Ant nests located in the seal plate, in a wall or around windows;
• Locate animal hiding places ex. :flying squirrel, bat colony, tree squirrel, raccoon, rodent;
• To spot and count wildlife babies hidden in wall or in the attic insulation;
• To spot and confirm an animal presence in the attic;
• To find the exact location of a bird nest or a moving bird in duct;
• To search and confirm an animal presence in the dark, outside (deer, raccoon, skunk, flying squirrel, fox, bat exit, etc.)

Thermal imaging is an innovative and a very effective technology, clean and safe. It can allow us to see invisible things hidden inside or behind structures in buildings. It shows many times what we cannot see. It gives to the biologist or the technician helpful information for a more effective Pest Control intervention.

This service can be offered and charged separately. It could also be included in different services such as the Black Carpenter Ant inspection, the control of wasp and bumblebee nests, bat colonies in attic, etc. with no extra charge.
